The use of water-repellent fabric on the area surrounding the protective shells also allows water to slide over this area, in the event of splashes associated with fording, or untimely light rain. The TFX4 is not waterproof, but this contributes to its versatility. A gant that you'll be happy to use if you want to travel léger, but whose range of use proves to be really wide.
